Privacy Policy
Effective
21 Knots Inc. (“21 Knots,” “we,” “us”) is a Salesforce and Asana consultancy based in Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains what personal information we collect through 21knots.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. The short version: we collect what we need to answer your inquiry and understand how the site is used. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t add you to marketing emails.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect:
- Your first and last name, email address and company name.
- What you’re interested in (for example, Salesforce, Asana or managed support).
- How you found us, if you choose to tell us.
- Anything you write in your message.
If you email us, call us or book a call, we receive the information you share in that conversation, such as your name, contact details and the details of your project.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived, the general location (city or country), and device and browser type. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this.
- AI assistant referrals. If you arrive from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot, the site notes which one. This note is kept in your browser only for the length of your visit, is reported to Google Analytics as a count, and, if you submit the contact form, is included with your inquiry.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site secure and running.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule conversations.
- To scope, deliver and manage work you engage us for.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To protect the site against spam, abuse and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We use the information you submit only to respond to you and to manage any work we do together. We don’t add you to newsletters or marketing emails, and we don’t use your information for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
21knots.com itself doesn’t set advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage, and embedded services described below may set their own. You can:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every site by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
You can learn how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Our site doesn’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because there is no common standard for them; the opt-out options above are available instead.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, who may use it only to provide their services to us:
- Salesforce — contact form submissions are stored in our Salesforce customer database.
- Google Analytics — site usage measurement.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
- Microsoft 365 — business email.
- Calendly — when you book a call, you do so on Calendly, which collects the details you enter under its own privacy notice.
- YouTube — our how-to videos are embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and video thumbnails load from YouTube. YouTube may collect information when you play a video, under Google’s privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
Links on our site to LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook and other websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy policies.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and client information for as long as we need it to respond to you, work with you and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights” below). Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
How we protect information
We use reputable service providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to people who need it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email info@21knots.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to access, correct and delete it; and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we don’t use sensitive personal information. The categories of information we collect are identifiers and contact details, professional information (such as your company), the content of your inquiry, and internet activity on our site — used and shared as described in this policy. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, 21 Knots Inc. is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We process it on these legal bases: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and to perform a contract with you; our legitimate interests in responding to inquiries, running and improving our business and securing our site; and compliance with legal obligations. In addition to the rights above, you may object to or ask us to restrict processing, and request a portable copy of your information. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Visitors in Canada
We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). By submitting information through our site, you consent to its collection, use and disclosure as described in this policy, and you may withdraw that consent by contacting us. You can ask to access and correct your information, and you may raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Our site is intended for businesses and isn’t directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
